Game Flow

Server Rule
Normal Server
In Sand Auto War there are two types of servers. One is Normal server created by a player and is active as long as player is in the game. This server is created from inside of the main game and has a limited setup options, Administration controls and life span. This server is mainly created for shot game with couple of players. Player does not need to leave game to create and close this type of server.
Dedicated Server
Dedicated server is a stand alone application to host long session games. Dedicated is start outside of the main game and has an advance setup and administration control. Admin do not have to enter main game to change server settings or perform admin tasks. Dedicated server will have a number of statistic screens fro game monitoring. Dedicated server can have more then one Administrators. To join dedicated server player have to go through main game logging in process.
Client
Client can join game by finding server from Server List in main game. Game can be joined and left at any time during the game play. If teams are heavily unbalanced some restriction of team joining may be applied. Game cannot be joined if it reached it limit of players.
Game Joining Process
After player has started saw.exe and went into Join Game screen, he will be given a choice which server to join. Then he has to select one of the not full servers and wait while client will contact server and get all needed information. The player will be given a screen where he can select a faction and then vehicle and weapon. After then player will be spawn into the game. From that moment player is fully into the game. Any time Player can quit the game session without any restriction.
Protocol

Game Time
Game time will be a time scale which measures time between updates on client side. Server will send an update message to the client with a fixed intervals and client will update its state. Game time will be used to synchronized game process and make sure that every client is update correctly and simultaneously. Game update will be send to the client in interval of 20 updates per second to insure flawless game play and better synchronization.
Map Details
Size
There are going to be different map size for different mission in Sand Auto Wars. Map will consist of tiles which will hold terrain information and graphical representation. Size of each tile will be 64x64 pixel and will represent 4 meters in game space. Maximum size of game map will be around 4000 meters.
Map Creation
Sand Auto Wars will have a full Map editor for creation and modification of game map. New maps can be used for online gameplay and will be automatically downloaded during player logging in process.
Game Play Rules
Equipment
Player’s vehicle will have a weapon which will be represented as its equipment. Each vehicle can have one weapon from three possible weapons of its class. To buy new equipment player have to drive to his base and press shopping button (by default “b”). Shop interface will be opened and player can select new weapon.
Vehicle
Player can select his vehicle after logging into the game, at the start of the round or after he got killed. Also after each death player has a chance to change his team. There is no restriction on the vehicle selection.
Controls
Player avatar (vehicle) movement will be
control by the keyboard. All controls can be edited in game’s options. To
control vehicle’s turret player will have to use mouse. By moving mouse left or
right will rotate turret around.
